Hey there!
Today's outfit is a little different from usual. A friend had an Alice in Wonderland themed tea party for her birthday (I know, how freaking cute is that?!) and I was pretty happy for an excuse to dress up and go a bit crazy. The first thing I knew I needed was a petticoat, luckily being a member of my local theatre I popped into the wardrobe department and borrowed one (as welll as a little apron I decided against wearing for fear of looking too much like a maid). The rest I put together and in the end it turned out sort of gothic lolita.

The makeup was so much fun as well...although I wish I'd done something a bit more with my eyes, maybe added some black to the creases or something. Even though apparently it's not obvious the white swirls and pearls on my face are supposed to represent all the tears Alice cries - a whole lake of them in fact. I love using those pearls, I've got them in every colour imaginable and they make a really interesting addition (I used them as piercings here).
Anyway, this is a short post because as usual I am busy as hell. Next time I'll ramble a bit more about what's been going on in my life (since some people seem to actually enjoy this aspect on my blogging).

The other day I pretty much wore this outfit to a rehearsal and one of my best friends told me I looked like a hippy goth, which I quite liked as a description. The thought also occurred to me that I look like some kind of Blade Runner-esque hooker, sort of Pris inspired, totally unintentional but I quite like the comparison. I wore it out again yesterday when the boyfriend and I went to Brighton, which was actually my second time in one week, I went earlier with Bekki and Charley where we discovered a new favourite cafe called Cocoa (ever tried it? It's amazing!), ate macaroons and shopped - it was pretty damn fun. When I went with the boyfriend it was a lot busier (which was weird 'cause it was a weekday) which put me a bit on edge, plus when we decided to take some outfit photos - after we'd had a nice wander, it got really windy and kind of horrible, so we decided against doing them there which kind of sucks because there are so many cool places to take photos. In the end we went to one of the many woods around where we live - unfortunately there aren't any good places to take photos in either of our houses so generally it has to be somewhere outside.
As for the actual outfit, I'm not really sure how I feel about it...I liked it the other day but when I wore it yesterday I wasn't really sure. Mainly I have issue with the top, which I made about 2 years ago during a fit of (questionable) creativeness. As you can see it's pretty shoddily cut which means it hangs in a way that doesn't please me all the time, but you can see where I go inspiration for my blog title (I've always been obsessed with the idea of wings and angels and the like). Also, I would like to warn you not to purchase suspender tights from New Look unless you like the instant laddered look - the thin section at the top gets ruined so easily. I'm considering investing in a Pretty Polly pair, anyone had any experiences with them?

Ah! This outfit feels so goth grunge 90s and I love it! I got the burn out velvet shirt for £8 at a vintage fair which is great since I'd been lusting for something in that material for a while and the daisy print dress is just so cute!
I've been on holiday for a week with the boyfriend and I've been planning this outfit for ages but the weather has left a lot to be desired but luckily the day I decided I needed to do it the rain stayed away for just long enough! We visisted this abandoned village which is now part of the army's practise shooting range, which is a bit scary because on the way there are loads of signs warning us not venture beyond certain points.
As you can see (hopefully) I redyed my hair with some more La Riche Directions in Turquoise. I actually love it because it has even more different shades in it now, like I can see turquoise, green and blue, it's really lovely - makes me feel like Michiru Kaioh (she was Sailor Neptune from the old Sailor Moon anime - p.s. they're doing a reboot next year and I'm a little bit excited, I feel like a tween again!) and the other day my friends compared me to Lady Gaga's mermaid alter ego Yuyi during her turquoise hair phase - I guess something like this which was nice of them. Speaking of old TV shows this titled made me started watching a few episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on Youtube - good memories!
Also, this is the first time I've worn eye dots out of the confines of my home (this lady inspired me) and I really love them! New standard makeup? I think so.

I don't know if you've noticed but this outfit is a little different from my usual! Namely because it's actually one of my costumes for my local theatre's up and coming production of As You Like It in which I have the pretty major role of Rosalind. As you can see this isn't very traditional garbs and that's due to us placing the play in a steam punk setting, which is so awesome! We're putting up the set soon and it's going to be pipes and cogs everywhere which I think it's going to look really cool! I love this corset so much and pretty much all the other girls have equally pretty ones but I don't get to wear mine for long since during most of the play my character pretends to be a boy called Ganymede - which is actually a role I am more comfortable in (I'm a massive tomboy in real life). I'm pretty nervous about the play but I still can't wait to do it! Fingers crossed everything goes well.
Although you can't see it (you can here) my hair has gone really very green but luckily I've redyed so it's back to it's glorious turquoise, I'll be doing a post talking about what I think of the hair dye I used. I've also got some swatch posts and a face of the day coming which I'm excited to show you.

The boyfriend wanted to try out one of the paths that we often see on the side of one of the roads he lives near so we pulled up the car and had a little wander. I felt like some kind of weird faerie frolicking about looking for some cool looking pinecone antlers, as you do! I think I prefer my own take on the floral/forest crown - if only it was practical enough to wear every day, sadly I had to leave it in the forest.
Anyway, I really like this outfit, it's a bit grunge but that's how I like it these days. You can't see them very well but the shorts I'm wearing I cut and studded, there'll be better photos of it in the next outfit. I really love them but I have to caution anyone who studs stuff, make sure you bend the prongs as far down as possible because I have been suffering from a lot of snagging (on my favourite pair of thick tights!) and also I laid down the other day and got stabbed a little by one of them, so just keep that in mind DIYers!

I love aquariums! This one is the newly re-opened Sealife Centre in Brighton that me and the boyfriend visited last week. Visiting a place like that makes me want to work there, even though realistically I'd probably be too grossed out to touch half of the animals, e.g. the octopus, because let's face it, they look really cool but also exceptionally creep. My favourite animals there have to be the jellyfish (which are new), the giant sea turtles (that always look so wise and old) and the seahorses - especially because there were baby seahorses which are just so cute it's untrue. Due to my obsession with unicorns when we were in the underwater tunnel thing I couldn't help but get excited about the fact there was a type of fish with a horn and thus the unicorn fish was born.
As for the actual outfit I'm sorry there aren't any full body shots, we were in a pretty confined space so it was difficult. I totally love this ensemble though. Do you like my pearl snake-bite piercings? They're not actually real - I went to a massive craft show the other day and they were going really cheap so I bought a whole load (I like to make cards) and then the boyfriend has the thought of using them as fake piercings. I think it looks pretty neat, right? My top is a DIY that went wrong in that it was supposed to be galaxy print but I used old transfer paper that wasn't specifically for dark colours and then I accidentally ironed some paper onto it, I think it somehow turned out okay anyway. I will probably do another at some point, I've been getting into DIY a lot, I've been studding and cutting everything in sight (the boyfriend keeps trying to persuade me not to cut up every top I own). What about you guys? Done any recent DIYs and did they turn out okay?
