I went to the London MCM Comic Con a few weeks ago and because I didn't have the funds or enough forward planning to do any actual cosplay, I decided to do some themed outfits instead, you know, put some kind of effort in! For Saturday I decided on a white deer theme, and Sunday (which is coming in another post) I went for a black dragon theme.
So for my white deer theme I went for a floaty, ethereal look, which I obviously couldn't have completed without Hysteria Machine's amazing antlers! I ordered them very last minute and they still arrived right on time! I was so happy! I also took this weekend as an opportunity to try out some shironuri make up, inspired by Minori (look her up! Her make up is pure art!). I only did half a white face because I didn't know how it would fair in a hot room for lots of hours. I also had a limited amount of time; there was a lot of extra detail I would have liked to have added but my friends grew impatient so I had to keep it limited. I also need practise applying lashes, because I'm really bad at it! And find a white powder to set my face paint, because I feel like talcum powder is slightly yellow and probably was the wrong thing to use. All in all, I learnt many a thing!

Well my goodness. Hasn't it been a long long long while?? Last time I published was October of last year, although it seems like much longer! These photos were taken quite a while ago as well, November in fact, when I went to see Paloma Faith (hence the title of this post - it's a lyric of her), which was incredible, by the way. Bonus points if you can spot her. Weirdly enough I thought that I'd blend right in with the rest of the gig-goers, but I actually felt about 200% overdressed, which is super weird for me. Everyone else was in jeans and t-shirt, which obviously is fine, but either way, I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb! Looked like one as well!

However, I am so entirely chuffed with this skirt! It was like £4 from a charity shop and it literally fits like a dream. It's also ridiculous to walk in and I need to invest in some ribbon that's actually long enough to cover the area of my rump...it takes more than I own! I spent forever trying to find something that goes with it...turns out it's pretty difficult piece to style! Thank the lord for the last minute look around Primark I decided to do!

Sorry about the monnnttthhhhsss of silence - recently moved and my hours at work have been bumped up, not to mention being in a play and desperately pursuing my acting career. But I really can't le this baby go, so let's begin the sporadic posting and endless promise of future posts again! '90s Fever ~ my choker collection!

Recently my choker addiction has gone into overdrive, and half to do with the fact that 90s fashion is very much back and bigger than ever (this post is being written to the soundtrack of Fancy by Iggy Azalea) and with the inundation of new creepy-cute, subversive kawaii and cute but kinky styles coming in, Etsy has been ablaze with beauties. I treated myself to two recently and I thought whilst I was at it, why not share all of my chokers with you guys! Let me know if you've bought any awesome chokers recently! Or lusting after any! I know I still want to add a few to my collection. And by a few, I mean very many.

One of the recent additions to my collection. I had to cut it down because I forgot to order a smaller size (I'm an idiot). I love the simplicity and also that I can wear it either plain, or with the buckle at the front and I love pairing it will pastel or monochrome outfits. This will definitely be appearing in an outfit post soon.

Lustful Doll ~ Clear vinyl spiked flower O-ring choker, £13.77

I lusted (hah - get it? The store is called Lustful Doll...) for this for quite a while before I finally bought it as a pick-me-up during a day where I was feeling a bit crappy. Clear plastics are super in at the moment and I will never tire of the floral spiked combo. I also had to cut a new hole into this one, since my neck is apparently ridiculously small. I did find the holes that had already been cut weren't super neat and two of the flowers have fallen off (fixed with blu-tack), but it's such an amazing design I forgive it.

I was really on the fence about whether to buy this but at that price I thought 'why not?' It's cute and I like how slender the velvet ribbon is. I also like how I can push the letters to the back of the choker so it appears to just be plain. I do like versatility in my accessories! Although sometimes I wish the letters were silver, not gold.

Ah, the jewel of my collection. Pricey but stunning. Genuine leather. Beautiful teal coloured metal spikes. Cute ribbon flowers. I can't even. I've said once, I will say it a million times; Creepyyeha makes me weep for joy.Can be seen worn in an outfit here.

Originally I bought this as a wrap around bracelet and then by some happy accident discovered that it was the perfect length to be worn around my neck as well. Happy days! Probably my most worn choker to date. I like how the spikes are small, I find a bigger spike can be overpowering sometimes, or a bit too much for a more casual outfit.

I am free! I am free! University is done! I have submitted all my work and endured all my exams! I am now free! I am looking forward to spending a few weeks catching up with life (read: catching up on Game of Thrones and RuPaul's Drag Race) before getting straight into attempted this here acting career. I had a semi-thought developing about maybe as a side project, blogging about my experience of attempting to become an actor. If that sounds like something you would like to hear about then let me know!

On to the outfit! This is a summer goth right here. Firstly, I apologise for the curious scowl I have in most of these photos; it was a combination of the camera not cooperating and also it being sunny outside, but I felt this dress needed to be captured in the sunlight! Isn't it magnificent?! The beautiful irridescent sequins go from dark blue to lime green and upon wearing it for the first time someone told me it looked like a dragonfly, so it is now officially been christened my dragonfly dress. There are two downfalls to it however; one - it is very very short. Maybe less of a problem for shorter people but for me, it was difficult to maintain my dignity whilst pottering around the garden. And second, it's a really hot dress, there's lining inside of the dress as well as the velvet, so it's pretty thick, but it's beautiful so who care? I changed up my forever favourite choker from Creepyyeha by adding a lettle black clip-on flower to the middle and I love that at the moment the spikes and flowers match my hair. For those of you interested this is just under a month's worth of fade (having used mainly Crazy Color's Capri Blue and Hot Purple), it's gone pretty turquoise but so far it's still pretty damn pigmented. What's that? I'm only wearing one item of black?! A primarily light coloured co-ord? I'm letting the goth team down!
I wore this outfit to visit a babe of a friend in Croydon - I say babe of a friend, but really we're soul mates. Like the same person in different bodies. I intend on taking some outfit photos at her house at some point because it is full of so much cool, beautiful junk, I feel like the world has to see it. Either way, I haven't worn this dress in ages, but I have done an outfit with it before, ages ago, when it was actually fitted - now the elastic has degraded pretty badly, and I've lost weight, so it's sort of a loose fit, but luckily it still works. I don't think I could bring myself to throw this baby out yet.
This is basically me attempting to channel my inner pastel goth, with a dash of white witch, although I kind of wish I'd worn a body harness with it - I feel like that would have been the black icing on my pastel gothic cake. I love the combination of my custom 'Ghost' necklace from Black Heart Creatives, along with the adorable clear vinyl choker for Lustful Doll - just a massive fan of transparent plastic at the moment, apparently. You'll probably be seeing a lot more of those boots as well; they're the perfect height where walking in them for extended periods of time isn't painful but they still look awesome. They've replaced my previous witchy boots for sure and I've seen loads of other people; friends, strangers, bloggers wearing them too. Well done New Look!
My hair has faded pretty damn well too, especially the blue, which I was expecting to be the worst. This is one and a half months of fade (see it fresh here) - my roots are looking pretty bad but I'm trying to ignore it. When (or if) I re-dye it, I think I'll have less pink, that's the colour that has faded less well, I'm not a fan of the coral orange it has become.
Excuse the weird background - I'm still figuring out a good place to take photos, but I think I'm steadily getting better...right?? At least with the better weather we're having I can worry less about bad lighting. Apart from that I am currently working my arse off to finish uni - writing two 2000 word essays, then a second 6000 word dissertation and finally revising for 11.5 hours worth of exams. Oh the joys of education!

Oh my lord! I love PVC! I love PVC! Have I mentioned I love PVC? It looks so killer! It's a bit of a pain to get into, granted; I've bought the same skirt in black and I think I've nearly ripped the material near the zip due to strenuous tugging (I will weep tears when it finally breaks...I've only worn it like three times - is that worth complaining about?). Other downsides include the fact that although it hugs my thighs, it's loose around my waist, and belts don't look so cute. I'm not sure how easy PVC is to take in? But despite all this I still love this skirt, and I got it with 20% off, huzzah! I'm so into the fact it's baby pink too and I'm just generally obsessed with how the material moves and creases under tension. Excuse me whilst I go into this corner and caress my PVC.

I wore this outfit to see some of my babes in a play (the RSC's script adaptation of Beauty and the Beast), which turned out pretty dreadful, but entertaining in how bad it was...and my babes were very good in it, of course. Unfortunately I was late, and I had to run (read: waddle) to the theatre, without time to change into my platforms (one can't drive in approx. 8cm flatforms safely). However, this might have turned out to be a blessing since it turns it is even more of a challenge to move around with the combined effect of skin tight skirt and platforms - I don't make life easy for myself, but I still love this outfit.

I was trying a different set up for these photos, but the light sucks...I might have to invest in some lighting - good god. Or maybe actually use my camera properly. You know, one or the other. Either way, bear with me whilst I figure it all out.

Today's is a simple outfit I wore to see a filming of Coriolanus (the one with Tom Hiddleston in it) with some of my babes. I received the top the day before having bought it from the Kate's Clothing reverse auction sale for like £11 (it's down to £8.60 now - dammit!), which is awesome. It's ridiculously comfy and I love how long the sleeves are. I feel kind of guilty that one of the very rare outfits I proffer up to you guys is all black, but hopefully there's enough going on for it not to be boring to you. I am also crazy about these flatforms - they may look a little curious in some of the photos (I think I look like a flamingo at points) but I kind of love being so much taller sometimes, and one of my friends accidental told me I look like a model, I'm not letting her forget that. I'm contemplating customising them a bit - maybe be-jewelling the soles, since there's such a massive expanse of black to play with. People keep on mistaking my fake facial piercings for real ones which pretty much makes my day every time and as much as I would love real piercings there's something endlessly satisfying about being able to change their position and colour and number so easily.
Other than that, I am resentful at the British winter for not giving me any snow but also glad the uni is ever so slightly less hectic now. I've been doing a massive clear out of my room which may sound mundane but is genuinely so therapeutic - it feels like shedding an old skin. I'll be selling a bunch of stuff on ebay eventually.
